errmmm last friday i actually went to comex;;;; wah piang......really nothing to buy lor..
most item are sibei boring.. all the same old stuff..just cheaper...my logic is quite simple,
no matter how cheap a product is, if it never was a necessity, most likely it never will be.

Once again i hopped on the train.
stepped into kinokuniya Ngee ann city.
bought 2 books to rescue me from the insanity of this book.


the first book being

this book is even thicker then the mother of all database textbooks. but its still an very interesting read. just the title is so much saucier compared to 'database processing'.....

and the other book being wikinomics

oki lah im trying to catch on to the global train of mass collaboration; this collaboration thing is so interesting that i tried putting up a knowledge base in my workplace. result are so mixed that its beri interesting..
so now this is no longer about platforms, technology, or even brands. it about humans weakness, strength and all characteristics of people working together.
shall derive more logic and understanding from this book...

i originally thought that this battery would be a hassle to buy in singapore as most of its listing from google were from those e-commerce site.

then i found worcell.com is actually a sg company, lol

called them up and got referred to the their associated retail store MHTE (SLS #05-44)

i massacred through the weekday crowd after the combat evasion movement training at comex~

reached the store and hohoho there goes my $144.5 (this is inclusive of GST)
now my eeepc has one big bulging ass of a battery.
btw since i am already at SLS might as well press out another 100 dollar for ram upgrade rite, just to make up for my non action (无为) in COMEX 2008.

well i have no idea as of now cause its still charging~
forums mentioned 6 hrs (400 minutes) of real world use...(full wifi, full brightness)

okies the batt has been fully charged, 3hrs taken? i was out so i couldnt check when the batt was full. definately took longer than the 4800mah default battery.

the shop auntie told me to do 2 full charge and discharge cycle to fully realise the batt potential...not sure if its true or not.
opinions on polymer lithium charge/discharge seems varied..

i shall post batt charge history graph after i use up the battery!

after 4hrs 40 mins of usage (wifi on, brightness 100%, cpu at normal freq, fan on automode, with a bluetooth usb adapter plugged in) and still with 9% battery left.

the steepest gradient of the graph was when i turned on zsnes and played double dragon for 20 mins.
note from the graph, that from 2hr48 the gradient of the graph is less steep, errmm because i practically ran out of things to do and just left the pc idle occasionally interupted with some web surfing.

but nonetheless even after 4 hrs 40 mins i still can leisurely log on to blogspot with sometime to come to post the battery usuage graph hehehe, well very impressive indeed

the battery went out at exactly 5hrs....i forgot to set to hibernate when battery is critically low........

battery use Day 2
hokay 2nd day of use, today i've set the brightness 20%, with the bluetooth adapter taken out,
i plan to mimick the use of a plain eeepc.

first hour was used for surfing the web, mail, blogging,
from the first hour onward i was listening in to imeem.
not sure how long the battery will last this time~~~
okie after 2.5 hrs of blasting imeem music (total powered on time is now 3.5 hrs) i decided to check the battery graph.
not bad 19% power left.
after a grand total of 3.5hrs. i decided to turn off the wifi and switch over to hsdpa on bluetooth.
usually thats how i connect to the net on the eeepc~ doing this allows the battery consumption used for the internet to be offset by my mobile phone's battery.

this is so impressive. as of ending this article. its been 4 hours and the battery is at 9% charge

Google Chrome is very zippy

like a little sports car with supercharge engines. 

first impressions - the top down loading syndrome in FF and IE (more obvious in IE) doesn't seem to occur in chrome,

remember when u have a big web page to load, text and picture loads and appears sequentially from the top..

well i not sure why chrome is so fast(the google comic mentioned multi-threading??)?? i didn't even notice the page loading, everything just appears instantly every where on the screen(i tried loading the same page in FF..it didnt work like chrome, contents still came out part by part), now I'm pretty sure that google is doing so evil things like connecting chrome to some Google cache of the interweb...but isn't their corporate motto " dun be evil"..... i just cant believe its so zippy....Vroooooommmmm~!!!

i do find it strange for chrome to increase the lines scrolled by the mouse wheel to 7 lines...but i only like my mouse scroll to be 3 line, not 7 okay.

also middle mouse button doesnt have the click and scroll function?

so does this mean chrome doesnt play with microsoft OS api???

1. I have 1 pc and 2 laptops i frequently use....i need google bookmark sync to be available for chrome, it has been taken off firefox and is no being longer supported) 
2. 1 of my laptop is linux....when will there be linux version.

since the live telecast is gonna be in malay first.....( perfect to piss umno off again, just like the equivalent of throwing your bank statement to someone in the face, and saying "lim-peh,有的是钱"） then followed by chinese ( a time to wow our new ah-tiong land immigrants with our welfare state policy, dun say we dun have welfare wor...look at the below photo... this is china, touching rite ...do the world a favour..show it to every ah-tiong u know, explain it to them...apparently many chinese dun know what this picture is about. )

so now the majority of the population will discuss about the "goodies" on monday...my humble point of view is that the choice of day is perfect....everyone should be in the mood to bite the bullet, bear the brunt of an aging population, since the rally will most likely talk about global recession, industries moving to lower costing countries (mainland china), embrace the new immigrant with open hearts, lower growth if geopolitics go well and recession if everything goes kaput; so it will be best if the weather is stormy, with heavy showers, lightning and thunder. many might find it gloomy, but for those aiming for the baby bonus gets a +3 to all stats and an additional +3 to endurance and speed.
